Ms. Morris has 20 years’ experience representing cities throughout Texas, both in house and in private practice.  Ms. Morris currently serves as City Attorney for the cities of Bonham, Bowie, and Lake Dallas, and serves as secondary City Attorney for the cities of Lucas, Gatesville, Everman, Hutchins, Sachse, and Rowlett.  Courtney also serves as secondary General Counsel for the Denton County Transportation Authority and Interim General Council for the Princeton Economic Development Corporation and Princeton Community Development Corporation.  She routinely works closely with and provides training to city staff, boards, and commissions on code enforcement and building safety, planning and development services, and open meetings.  She has extensive experience drafting ordinances and resolutions, contracts and real estate documents, and economic development agreements, as well as advising clients employment matters, including civil service and chapter 614 police and fire employment matters. Further, Ms. Morris serves as municipal prosecutor for Lake Dallas, Hutchins, and Glenn Heights.  She is approved liability defense counsel for the TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool and has successfully obtained many dismissals on dispositive motions asserting governmental immunity:
